IAME Special Meeting |

NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING
Please be advised that a special meeting of the members of the International Association for Montessori Education (IAME) and the Board of Directors of the Montessori Teacher Education Association, Inc. will be held Friday, March 26, 2010 at the Boston Marriott Copley Place, 110 Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02116 from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. (EDT). The meeting will be held in conjunction with the 2010 Annual Meeting of the American Montessori Society.
The meeting is called for the purpose of reviewing and voting on certain matters required to divide IAME and the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE) into separate legal entities as approved by the members at their annual meeting in Tampa, FL on November 14, 2009:
1. Authorizing the corporation to change its name from “Montessori Teacher Education Association, Inc.” to “Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education, Inc.” (MACTE INC).
2. Approving new bylaws for MACTE INC.
3. Approving bylaws for the newly-created entity called International Association for Montessori Education, Inc. (IAME INC).
4. To transact such other business as may be deemed necessary to effectuate the action of the members approved on November 14, 2009.
Please be advised that additional information, including a copy of the proposed bylaws for both entities, will be sent to all members at least 30 days prior to the meeting.
Arrangements will be made for members who cannot attend in person to attend by conference call or other electronic means.
